Our sustainability
Sustainable hotels in Austria, Germany & Switzerland
“The careful use of the necessary resources is a challenge that we face with conviction. As a fifth-generation family business, we think long-term and have set ourselves the goal of working with our employees to scrutinize and optimize every offer and every service with a view to conserving resources. It is not one big step that will lead us to our goal, but many small improvements in our daily work.”

Our responsibility for a sustainable future
At harry’s home, we act responsibly towards our environment, society and our partners.
Inspired by the ESG criteria (environmental, social and governance) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we focus on concrete measures to minimize our environmental footprint, promote social equality and operate transparently and sustainably. Our goal: to make a positive contribution to the world of tomorrow – together with our guests, employees and the community.
We were the first Austrian hotel group to receive this award!
Because green is not just the color of our logo, protecting our environment and the climate is important to us. Did you know that we’ve won an award? No? Then you should definitely visit one of our sustainable hotels in Austria, Germany, or Switzerland and see for yourself.
But all joking aside: we’ve literally been awarded!
We were the first Austrian hotel group to be awarded the Austrian Ecolabel and the EU Ecolabel by the Ministry of the Environment. We carry this award as a visible sign of our commitment to the environment, sustainable tourism development, but also to our guests and employees. Together we assume ecological and social responsibility. We have committed ourselves to complying with many strict criteria and to being audited by independent bodies.

We are partners with WASSER FÜR WASSER (WfW)
At all 16 of our locations in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland, we use tap water instead of bottled water, thereby supporting the nonprofit organization WASSER FÜR WASSER (WfW). Since 2012, the organization has been committed to the fair use of water resources, both in Switzerland and in Zambia and Mozambique.
Through our partnership, we are making a twofold contribution. For one thing, by not using branded bottled water, we’re reducing transportation distances and plastic consumption at each of our locations. Furthermore, 100% of our donations go toward WfW’s water, sanitation, and education projects, such as ensuring safe access to drinking water and sanitation facilities in structurally disadvantaged areas.
This is how we connect our daily work at all 16 locations to a project that has an impact far beyond our own guest rooms. For us, drinking water is not a privilege, but something we take for granted—and we are working together with WfW to ensure it remains so.
