Declaration on accessibility

General information about the website

The website of Harry’s Home Holding AG presents the comprehensive range of houses & apartments under the “harry’s home” brand in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Guests can find information on the individual locations, room categories, special offers and brand services. The aim is to convey a “home away from home” feeling: spacious rooms, modern facilities, pet-friendliness and central locations.

The website is designed to offer a clear structure and intuitive usability. The focus is on user-friendliness, visual brand management and simple booking processes – combined with responsive design so that guests can access the site from a variety of devices.

Use of the online offer

  • Navigation & structure: The website uses a clear navigation system with main categories such as “Locations”, “Offers”, “Business”, “Career”, supplemented by a mega menu in which all hotel and apartment locations can be reached quickly. The footer also contains an imprint, data protection and contact information.
  • Media & Content: Content includes image galleries, location descriptions, room details, special promotions and blog or news articles about the brand and services.
  • Interaction & service: Guests can book accommodation directly online or make inquiries using the contact information. Form-free communication and a simple booking interface are part of the offer.
  • Design & user-friendliness: The design combines visual brand elements with clear structures. Animations and interactive elements support the brand experience without compromising clarity. The site is optimized for mobile use, making it easy to use on the move.

Validity of the declaration

This accessibility statement applies to the website published under the domain harrys-home.com as well as to all associated subpages and subdomains (e.g. blog.domain.de, app.domain.de), provided they are assigned to the same provider. The assignment is usually made via a joint imprint or via the contractual and technical responsibility of the same organization.

Responsible:

Self-image

Accessibility is now a basic feature of modern websites – it is a quality feature, enhances the user experience and ensures legal security. Enabling complete accessibility for all groups of people is in line with our corporate understanding of digital responsibility and social participation.

Our claim

In concrete terms, this means for us:

  • Semantically correct front end: clean HTML structures, meaningful ARIA roles, consistent component logic.
  • Conceptual accessibility: focus guidance, logical tab sequence, keyboard operation, understandable interactions.
  • Editorial clarity: Comprehensible language, readable typography, descriptive links, alt texts.
  • Accessible media: Videos with transcripts and subtitles, high-contrast thumbnails, visual descriptions if necessary.
  • Technical assistance friendliness: Support for preferred-reduced-motion and other system-based user preferences.
  • Sustainable further development: Regular audits, action plans and continuous maintenance of digital accessibility.

Applicable standard

Our website is based on the following legal and normative principles:

  • Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0)
  • Disability Equality Act (BGG)
  • Directive (EU) 2016/2102
  • WCAG 2.1 – aimed at conformance level AA+

Audit from 17.11.2025

This website is partially compliant with conformance level AA of the “Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Web – WCAG 2.2” or with the applicable European standard due to the following incompatibilities and exceptions.

Success Criterion 1.1.1 Meaningful text alternatives for non-text content (A)
Problem: Not all non-text content (e.g., images, graphics, controls) has appropriate alternative text that clearly describes its purpose or content. This can lead to a loss of information, particularly for screen reader users.
Solution: Missing text alternatives will be added gradually.
Planned implementation: 2025/2026

Success Criterion 1.2.1 Meaningful text alternatives for audio-only and video-only content (A)
Problem: For purely visual or auditory media, equivalent text alternatives are not always available, which limits the accessibility of the content for people with sensory impairments.
Solution: Missing text alternatives will be added gradually
Planned implementation: 2025/2026

Success Criterion 1.3.1 Information and Relationships (A)
Problem: The HTML structure and semantic markup of the content are not consistently implemented correctly. This may interfere with the use of assistive technologies.
Solution: We correct incorrect semantics.
Planned implementation: by the end of 2025

Success Criterion 2.4.4 Link Purpose (A)
Problem: The purpose of individual links is not always clear from the link text or the context (e.g., “click here” instead of “view product details”). This is particularly problematic for screen reader users, as they are often only read the link text in isolation.
Solution: We add any missing ARIA labels.
Planned implementation: 2025/2026

Success Criterion 2.4.5 Multiple Paths (AA)
Problem: There are no alternative navigation options, such as a search function, a sitemap, or a table of contents. This makes it difficult for various user groups to find specific content or navigate the website efficiently.
Solution: Implement an alternative navigation route
Planned implementation: by the end of 2025

Success Criterion 3.1.2 Language of Parts (AA)
Problem: Content in other languages (e.g., individual terms, quotes, or menus) is not always correctly tagged with the corresponding language code. As a result, assistive technologies may read these sections of text incorrectly.
Solution: Missing language tags will be added step by step.
Planned implementation: 2025/2026

Objective: AA+ as standard

The aim is to reliably fulfill the legal requirements of WCAG 2.1 level AA and also to implement elements from the extended area of digital accessibility (partly WCAG 2.1 AAA) – insofar as this is appropriate and technically feasible in the project context.

Implementation takes place as part of re-audits, module-related updates and project-related maintenance processes. All relevant measures, deadlines and responsibilities are documented transparently.
